I was thinking how different is the teachings of Ramayana and Mahabharata when it comes to relationships and families. Ramayana teaches to give, even at your expense. So Ram agreed to 14 yrs exile. Mahabharata on the other hand teaches you to do the right thing. So you fight with your brother's etc, to take what is rightfully yours. Ramayana and Mahabharata were both because of hurt male ego at the hands of women. We somehow fail to estimate how powerful a force that is. While Rama was the king in Ramayana, in Mahabharata Krishna was the king maker. So essentially with time it taught us that being the king maker is more important than being the king. As the accountability of a king is much higher, like with Ram, who has to alienate Sita because of social pressures. But in mahabharata draupadi had 5 husbands, and even after the cheer haran incident, she could live with her honor. This shows how just a womens strength can make people around her respect...

Kyun?

Kyun (Why)? is the favorite and often used phrase by my almost 3 yr old Daughter. It sometimes catches me by real surprise and I get dumbstruck. Sometimes its fun trying to answer the list of KYUN.. She makes a real concerned face when she says KYUN, and you are unable to decide if she is serious or joking...How to exactly respond...Guess this is a time which comes in the growing up of every child when he/she questions everything,,,,Probably another milestone in the journey of life..

Jai Shri RAM Originally uploaded by ankur186 On Dasshera day went to see the Ramlila procession in old delhi...There were good bands playing music and some nice shows..Still it is not as grand as what it used to be, we are loosing a big part of tradition in this. It was fun to see Neitya and other kids enjoying the show, and i wish it gets passed on to generations after that also,,,,

This Sunday was meant to be a nice family affair with lunch at chachis place in Noida. We also planned to go to the great indian place Noida mall and checkout lifestyle etc. We started slightly late and then i felt that car was dragging and quivering slightly. I feared puncture and unfortunately i was correct. Changed tyre myself as the breakdown service people take around 30 mins. Then A/c's at chachis place were completely ineffective in the summer heat. On way back had a minor accident with a Zen, the ass just came out of a sidelane into the middle of road. Even after hard brakes, i screeched to a halt but bumped him. I signaled him to go as i was travelling with family and was not interested in an argument, seems the old man in the car took it to be my weakness and came out of the car like a Hero. He asked me to come out, i said park the car on the sides and then lets talk. Blocking the road is damn stupid. I asked my bro in lae to get down so that he does not feel that i will ...
