Credit cards

I have been using credit cards since quite some time now and have used of various banks. Here is a brief on my experience with them. HSBC - most avoidable. pathetic customer service and orientation. I wanted to use it, but the website is so stupid and customer care answers so arrogant, that i had to cancel it. ICICI - It seems they decided to give the reward points management to Imint. Which makes reward redemption a very messy deal. Again totally avoidable. SBI - I like this card, they don't call you too much or trouble you. But the website is not good, it is down occasionally. The points system even on the platinum card is not really that great. They used to have great offers at one point of time, but not anymore. Customer service is very bad,,,sometimes emails are not responded till a reminder is sent. HDFC - I have the card, used it once, got service charge added for petrol when they said it wont be...That was reversed after email, but i am confused, do i need to call them ever...

Imint and ICICI

ICICI bank decided to outsource its rewards headache to imint. Imint is one big pile of screwups and pathetic service. So now you cannot claim your points easily. I somehow was already not much satisfied with ICICI, they have grown too big and now its an unmanaged chaos. I decided to go for ICICI lured by free tickets from bookmyshow and good recommendtation from a friend. I have now tried ABN, HSBC, ICICI, Citibank and SBI. I would suggest Citibank and SBI., they have been most predictable and trustworthy. SBI is also slightly problematic with points redemption, but citibank has always been very forthcoming with it.

HSBC credit card- BEWARE

HSBC has adopted a unique way of making money. You drop the cheque on time, they dont process it by the due date and then charge you all the late payment charges etc. Also they continue to harass you on phone even when you tell them the payment has been done. They would call 5 times at your mobile, office, home just to ask 10 times about the payment which you have already made. The email to nodal officer gets no response. The customer care tells you to drop another cheque and block the one you dropped earlier. I wonder who would pay the cheque stop charges in this case. My Bank ABN charges me Rs 112 per cheque stop. Finally i decided to drop another cheque assuming that they might have lost the old one. Then magically they withdrew both my cheques, effectively taking extra payment and levied me finance charges etc. When i protested my account was closed. They did not even bother to inform me on phone of my credit card account closure. On furthe...
